In all weathers, families will be found outdoors, experiencing the splendour of their natural surroundings under a canopy of green. Neighbours will greet each other by name as they explore the winding pathways, knowing they are invested together in the wellbeing of their unique community. Here, they will find that rare place that feeds their heart and inspires joy at every turn of the trail.
In winter, excited laughter and squeals of delight will be heard as the families toboggan and snow-tube down the gentle incline that links the rear of the community to the snow-covered open fields below.
OFF-LEASH DOG PARK
Walking the dog will be a pleasure that the whole family will share. At your community’s own secluded off-leash dog area in the woods, your beloved four-legged friend will enjoy meeting friends of their own. Ironwood is a place of wagging tails and happy trails.
PLAYING FIELD / ICE RINK
Ironwood’s private open field is the perfect place to head when you feel like a game of soccer, playing catch or throwing a Frisbee. In winter, it’s the community’s own ‘backyard’ ice rink, the way Canadian kids have done it for over a century – and become world champions. Aspiring figure skaters too! Ironwood encourages all our children to dress warm, lace up and join in.
Experience the joys of caring for your community garden while getting to know your neighbours. You can grow and nurture healthy foods right in your backyard. It’s the most pleasurable and satisfying outdoor exercise you will ever have.
All paths lead to Hillview Square. This beautiful setting will be a gathering place for residents to hold community events, watch over the kids at the playground, take a few moments of relaxation, or simply enjoy the scenery as the four seasons transform the landscape and its colours.
With the sweet sound of birdsong as background music, you are welcome to this special space in a forest clearing, to centre and exercise through the timeless discipline that is yoga, the practice of Tai Chi, the silence of Chi Kung & more.
Children’s laughter fills the air from the natural playground in the shade of spreading trees, where neighbourhood kids can get together to play outdoors – the way kids always have since times gone by.
With its Cattail landscaped edge and ever-changing character, this seasonal pond is the perfect setting for viewing the ecological process in action. Families can learn more about nature by observing the flora and fauna including butterflies, amphibians, birds- and the cattails, also named bulrushes.
